    Robin van Persie has told Jose Mourinho he won’t be joining him at Real Madrid

        ROBIN VAN PERSIE has told Jose Mourinho he won’t be joining him at Real Madrid – ­because he wants to win more trophies with Arsenal.


        Bernabeu boss Mourinho is weighing up an offer to tempt Van Persie to Madrid but the Dutchman says his focus is to help Arsene Wenger’s outfit end their six-year trophy drought.


       Van Persie, 27, only has one medal to show for his time with the Gunners, when he won the FA Cup in his first season at the club.


        The striker was on a great run of form at the end of last season – and he’s totally focused on keeping up that record this season.


         The Holland star (right) said: “In the second part of last season I scored 18 league goals. I believe this could be a really good year for me.


    “I want to win trophies but winning doesn’t come from out of the blue.


    “We didn’t have a World Cup or European Championships during the summer, so we can prepare really well this year.”
